What conditions must be provided and how should you be treated during the detention in an asylum context?

If you are detained by the police, you can be held in a temporary place of detention only up to 12, 24 or 48 hours. However, if you are detained at the Center for Foreigners as an asylum seeker, you could be detained up to 3 months, with the possibility of prolongation for an additional month.

You have the right to humane conditions in the place of detention, medical aid, as well as the right to communicate with the outside world.
