What conditions must be provided and how should you be treated during detention in an immigration context?

If you are detained by the police, you can be held in the temporary place of detention for up to 12, 24 or 48 hours. However, if you are detained in the Center for Foreigners as an asylum seeker, you could be detained for up to 3 months, with a possibility of prolongation for an additional month.

You have the right to humane living conditions and medical care in the place you are held, as well as the right to communicate with the outside world.
