Divorce of a marriage by a court or a notary

If you no longer want to continue your relationship with your spouse, you can file for divorce.

You should submit an application to a court of general jurisdiction (civil court, department of family justice) if you and your partner do not agree to divorce, or on how to settle other aspects of your relationship, such as custody over children or the division of property.

If you both agree to divorce and you have no disagreements on other aspects of your relationship you can conclude a divorce agreement at a notary. If you have minor children together, the divorce agreement will have to be confirmed by a court.
