How is your application examined?

Upon receiving a report of discrimination, the Advocate shall verify the allegations and circumstances in the report with the alleged perpetrator. He also tries to gather as much information as possible from everyone who could in any way help solving the case.

After examining the data collected, the Advocate decides whether or not discrimination has occurred. He concludes the procedure with a declaratory decision.

If an inspection shows that the prohibition of discrimination has been violated, he may:

  • require the irregularities to be corrected
  • propose appropriate measures to be taken to prevent further discrimination or to eliminate the consequences of discrimination
  • prohibit further discrimination

He may also refer the matter to the relevant inspection body which has the power to issue a misdemeanor decision and the perpetrator may be penalized for discrimination.
